Pure Drivetrain Solutions introduces SIAG, Super Intelligent Adaptive Gearbox. The first of its kind; a gearbox that checks every single box, for multiple applications. Drag Racing, Road Course, Auto X, Drifting, Sand Drag, Resto Mod, Drag & Drive, Street Cars, Roll Racing - literally ANYTHING!

  • Available in RWD and AWD configurations.

  • Rated for 2000ft lbs / 2700Nm.

  • Lightning quick shift times.

  • 10,000+ RPM capable

  • CAN Integration

  • 16gb of datalogging memory

  • Full range of I/O's with power supply options of 5v and 12v both HS, LS and much more.

SIAG is the most advanced and versatile gearbox in the world. It's an eight speed automatic, it's a six speed H pattern, it's a six speed sequentially shifted gearbox or it's a paddle shifted sequential. YOU decide what YOU want the gearbox to be. The SIAG has seven internal clutches, an external clutch, and a torque converter. Yes, it's all that and much much more.

Here's a very brief summary touching on some of what SIAG is about and how it operates in both Manual and Automatic modes:

Manual Mode:

When using the transmission with our H pattern or sequential shifter setup along with our clutch pedal assembly you will use the clutch for starts, you can launch off of a 2 step, be able to clutch kick the car for drifting, or just enjoy cruising around and kicking the clutch to grab the next gear.

The shifter and clutch pedal assembly is fully configurable to suit the driver's desired wants and needs. Drivers can adjust the firmness of the throw, the “notchiness” of the shift, the length of the throw, even the stiffness of the clutch pedal is adjustable to how the operator wants it at the simple turn of a knob. The full driver experience is able to be dialed in exactly as YOU wish.

SIAG, in any of the manual configurations is completely controlled by the end user by choosing which six gear ratios you would like to utilize. At any given moment you can connect via a laptop, use our blue tooth based app or by utilizing our map select switch to change which gear ratios you desire to be running. An example of this would be, driving to the track and you want 6th gear to be an over drive gear utilizing our tallest ratio, .065, to keep the engine rpm down and have a nice cruise safely to the track. Once you arrive at the track, now you want 6th gear to be a 1.00 ratio, It is just a click away. If you want to drive to the track in full automatic mode utilizing all 8 gears you can do that too. YOU, the end user decides what YOU want the gearbox to do.

Automatic Mode:

When in automatic mode the end user is always in full control. Whether you want to utilize all eight gears to cruise around, use six gears to road race or drag race or maybe just two for sand drags it's all up to you. There are eight forward gear ratios to choose from and it's up to you to decide if you want to use all eight or not; you can use as many or as little as you'd like. It's possible to go directly from any of the available gear ratios to your next option without having to go through the others, all gears are always engaged and it's the job of the GCM to enable the internal clutches to apply the selected gear. Pure proprietary software gives you full control of the shift points and shift firmness among other things. You want the gearbox to shift buttery smooth on your cruise to dinner but then have very quick and firm shifts at the race track. It's all possible with SIAG

SIAG offers multiple launch control strategies to be used. The option of launching the car off of a footbrake or a transbrake are both available.

When it comes to the torque converter we have endless options to suit the needs of your build; you tell us what you are looking for and Pure can spec out exactly what you need. From 2000rpm to 6500rpm stall speeds Pure has you covered.

Adapter Plates and Flywheels:

The SIAG can be purchased as a full unit and then be adapted to any application you like or you can purchase the flywheel and adapter plates from PDS and make it a bolt in affair. PDS will be offering flywheels and adapter plates for all popular engines and are willing to make any adapter plate and flywheel to accommodate your project. RWD and AWD: The SIAG gearbox lives up to its name and that's adaptive. The gearbox is offered in both RWD and AWD configuration; the best part, it's the same gearbox. All that changes is the tail-shaft housing of the gearbox to adapt to the transfer case. If you have one transmission it can be used in a totally different application in the future if your project changes.

Gear Ratio Selection:

The SIAG currently has an overall gear ratio spread of 7.75 - Gear ratios are as follows:

  • 4.65

  • 3.10

  • 2.10

  • 1.65

  • 1.35

  • 1.00

  • .85

  • .60

learn more about THE SIAG

“What could be the most versatile transmission ever developed for high-performance and racing applications, the SIAG (Super Intelligent Adaptive Gearbox) is being released by Pure Drivetrain Solutions in Medford, New York.

This new transmission can be configured with up to eight speeds, works in RWD and AWD setups, and is rated for 2,000 lbs.-ft. torque and 10,000 rpm. It features seven internal clutches, an external clutch, and a torque converter. It can be a paddle-shifted sequential six-speed gearbox, a four-speed H-pattern with a clutch, or a fully automatic eight-speed.

The SIAG was developed by Chris Miller, who started with an idea to design a transmission that would shift faster than a DCT but keep the planetary concept. Then a couple of drag-and-drive racers asked about alternatives to an auxiliary overdrive.

“I asked them, what if there was a transmission that could support 2,000 lbs.-ft., and it could be an eight-, six- or even two-speed. You pick from eight different ratios. They thought I was in fantasy land,” recalled Miller.

The gearbox control module is fully programable, from the number of speeds to the “feel” of the clutch pedal. The GCM can store five full tuning files that can be toggled through using a remote button panel. An app will also be developed to make minor adjustments from a cell phone. “
